Awash

1 hour performance with Casey Adams at SOIL Gallery in Seattle, Washington, 2020

Materials: Galvanized steel bucket, electric clippers, seawater, white cotton washcloth

Collapsing the distance between two individuals into an obsessive, self-obliterative performance of care. Space and time become slippery in the process, the murkiness of the Puget Sound laid bare on shared skin, deliberate actions performed in an attempt to contain and condense place and person.

I wash his body with water from the Sound. I trim his hair, and collect the clippings for myself. I dry him. I clean the space.
